To ensure that our programs are effective and tailored to the unique needs of each client, we have established specific eligibility criteria. These criteria are designed to identify candidates who will benefit the most from our services, thereby maximizing the potential for successful outcomes.
Eligibility Factors for GLP-1 Prescription Weight Loss Program
Age Requirements:
-
Patients must be at least 18 years old to enroll in the GLP-1 prescription weight loss program. There is no upper age limit, provided the individual meets all other health criteria.
Health Issues and Ineligibility:
-
Known health issues that would make someone ineligible for the program include:
-
A history of severe gastrointestinal disorders.
-
Pancreatitis or a history of pancreatic disease.
-
Severe renal impairment.
-
A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
-
Uncontrolled mental health disorders that may affect compliance with the program.
-
Blood Work Requirements:
-
Comprehensive blood work is NOT required before enrollment, but highly encouraged to assess overall health and identify any underlying conditions that may impact the safety and effectiveness of the GLP-1 therapy. This includes tests for thyroid function, liver enzymes, kidney function, and glucose levels, among others.
Body Mass Index (BMI) Requirements:
-
Patients must have a minimum BMI of 27 kg/m² to qualify for the program. This ensures that the therapy is appropriate for individuals who are classified as overweight or obese and can benefit most from the weight loss intervention. There is no maximum BMI limit.
By adhering to these eligibility factors, Atlanta Weight Loss and HRT ensures that patients enrolled in the GLP-1 prescription weight loss program are well-suited for the therapy, promoting safety and efficacy in achieving their weight loss goals.
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
Prospective patients must meet the following criteria:
1. Age Requirements:
-
Patients must be at least 18 years old to be considered for the HRT program.
-
There is no maximum age limit, but older patients will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure they are suitable candidates for HRT.
2. Health Status:
- Patients must undergo a thorough medical evaluation to determine their overall health and suitability for HRT.
- Certain known health issues may make an individual ineligible for the program, including but not limited to:
- Active or history of hormone-sensitive cancers (e.g., breast, ovarian, or prostate cancer).
- Severe liver disease.
- Uncontrolled heart disease or recent heart attack.
- Untreated sleep apnea.
- Blood clotting disorders.
3. Blood Work:
- Comprehensive blood work is required for all potential patients before starting the HRT program. This includes hormone levels, liver function tests, lipid profile, and other relevant markers.
- Regular follow-up blood work will also be necessary to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed.
4. Body Mass Index (BMI):
- While there is no strict minimum BMI requirement, patients with a BMI below 18.5 may be advised to reach a healthier weight before commencing HRT to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
- Patients with a BMI above 30 may be required to participate in a weight management program to achieve a more suitable BMI range before starting HRT.
By adhering to these eligibility factors, Atlanta Weight Loss and HRT aims to ensure the safety and efficacy of our Hormone Replacement Therapy program, providing patients with the best possible care and outcomes.
